Renowned chef leads culinary and wine tours to Argentina

Renowned chef, Ricardo Fernandez, and his wife, Suzanne, announce dates for the third Culinary & Wine Tour to Argentina: Oct. 19-Nov.5, 2017.

In a land dotted with brilliant landscapes, tantalizing aromas, elegance, and world-class wines, the couple has redefined the notion of ‘getting away from it all’ by creating the trip of a lifetime.

“Over 17 days, our itinerary includes the old-world elegance of Buenos Aires, west to the high and dry plateaus that surround Mendoza, and south to San Carlos de Bariloche, the star of Patagonia,” said Ricardo Fernandez. “Our guests are immersed in the finest culinary and wine travel in Argentina.”

Over their 25 years as residents of Haywood County, Ricardo and Susanne are well known in western North Carolina culinary circles for launching one of the first farm-to-table restaurants in the region. Ricardo’s face lights up the moment he is asked about his culinary journey.

“Since day one, there’s been a spoon in my mouth,” he said. “Delicious food made from the best ingredients is at the heart of family culture in Argentina. We come together around the table, to celebrate, to mourn, and to share our everyday lives.”

After five years operating a catering business and monthly cooking classes, in 2015 the couple was ready to curate an immersive first class excursion taking food and wine lovers to Argentina.

“Our tours are the perfect blend of guided adventure and leisure,” Suzanne said. “Offering luxurious spas, golf, museums, art, shopping or simply taking in the view.”

Whether foodies are lured by the romance of winemaking, cosmopolitan city life or legendary fusion menus, Argentina is overflowing with breathtaking natural beauty, world-class wines, and fusion menus.

“Seeing the grapes on the vine growing against the backdrop of the Andes, then venturing inside for a private lunch and tasting with the vintner, it is simply unbelievable,” said Ricardo. “You can’t get this kind of intimate experience anywhere else.”
